The Nike Air Tailwind is arguably the most important running shoe in Nike's fabled history. With many people believing the Air Max 1 was the first sneaker to feature Air but it was in fact the Tailwind.

Designed by NASA engineer Frank Rudy, this new cushioning was debuted at the 1978 Honolulu Marathon and it would mark a point in sneaker history that not many people are aware of.
