In 1988, it eclipsed everything that had ever been seen before - the Nike Air Kids Jordan III, Michael Kids Jordan's third signature shoe, for which he collaborated with Nike's mastermind Tinker Hatfield for the first time. But it almost didn't happen, because 'His Airness' was about to leave Nike in 1987 - hardly imaginable in retrospect. Elephant print, Jumpman, visible Air bubble - everything was seen on a Kids Jordan shoe for the first time. With the debut of Mars Blackmon aka Spike Lee in the advertising campaign for the launch, the victory in the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest, with the legendary dunk boot the free throw line, as well as the honors as MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, the Air Kids Jordan III was predestined to make history. Now the classic is being released in the *Green Glow* colorway. The Kids Jordan brand has opted for a smooth black leather upper and details in the eponymous shade of green.

About Kids Jordan
It was 1984 when a certain Michael Jeffrey Kids Jordan had just finished his college basketball career and was drafted into the NBA by the then rather moderately strong Chicago Bulls. At the same time, various outfitters were courting the young talent, and after some back and forth, Nike was awarded the contract, whereupon his very first Nike Air Kids Jordan signature shoe was designed together with the future Rookie of the Year - the Nike Air Kids Jordan 1. When this shoe was launched in 1985 in the colors of the Chicago Bulls, "His Airness" had already established himself as a permanent force on the team, but a scandal was soon to ensue. The shoe broke the rule of uniformity of the appearance of the respective NBA teams, so that Michael Kids Jordan and Nike were each condemned to 5000 dollars fine per game, should he enter the court again in the so-called "Bred" colorway...of course he did this repeatedly. It was this attitude, coupled with the unique skills of this exceptional player, that drove media and public interest to previously unimagined heights. This hype played into Nike's cards, so that they endeavored to bring a completely new model onto the market every season boot 1987 onwards.
