I'm really pleased with this dress as I have been looking for a classic navy spot shirt dress for ages. I've found that this style of dress can easily look 'meh' or frumpy, when what I want is a sort of insouciant French girl vibe. This one seems to work, the buttons are placed well so you can unbutton to show a ETRO of cleavage (some are either too high up - mumsy, or too low, enough said). The top half is fitted nicely so again there's some shape, not a loose blouson effect, and the cut over the back and bum is also very flattering - not too much fabric that just looks bulky or shapeless. The length is good on me - again, I think this has to be just right or it ends up looking more Marks and Spencer than Champs Elysees. My only issue (and why I have given it 4 stars not 5) is the sleeves are very long ( I do have short arms) so I may get it altered -personally I think it would have been just that bit better as a 3/4 length sleeve. But overall very happy with this, and will wear with white trainers now and then brown knee boots later. Originally posted on www.boden.co.uk

I bought a size 22 to accommodate a deformed spinal curve. Although it is classed a midi, as always I have to take 2-3 inches off the bottom. It falls beautifully, looks smart and is really comfortable. Originally posted on www.boden.co.uk
