Renowned South Korean streetwear retailer Kasina takes a trip down memory lane with Converse to commemorate its first store opening in 1997 in Busan. Starring the archival basketball shoe Converse Weapon, this collaborative “White Green” colourway highlights Kasina’s passing and storytelling inspired by the brand’s flagship location.
Formed in 1997 by former pro skateboarder EunHyuk Lee as a skateboard concept store, Kasina has grown into South Korea’s largest streetwear retailer, curating various brands to shape the Asian nation’s contemporary street fashion scene. This limited-edition Converse Weapon is an ode to Kasina’s establishment, decked out in a sail white leather base with navy blue accents encompassing the padded PU collar and inner lining. Meanwhile, the Star Chevron logos on the sides flaunt a light green hue on the lateral panel and a muted blue pigment on the medial. These familiar colours headlined the two-pack Kasina x Nike Dunk Low collab in 2020. The Converse Weapon tag on the tongue arrives in a bright green tone to stand out. A debossed “Kasina” label spelt out in Hangul language sits on the lateral rear, complementing the hand-drawn graphics on the heel and Y-bar originating from a Stoff during the store’s construction. The crisp white rubber sole wraps up the throwback design of these kicks.
The Converse x Feng Chen Wang Converse collaboration drops on 16th November 2023 via Converse and select UK-based retailers. Find out how to get your hands on the Converse Jack Purcell Sneakers Shoes 162845C “White Green” by keeping it locked to Atelier-lumieresShops and downloading our App!
