adidas Superstar Sizing: How Do They Fit?

An asymmetrical upper gives the Adidas Tubular Shadow a modern look adidas Superstar. Since hitting the shelves all the way back in 1970, the Superstar has established itself as nothing short of an icon in the footwear game, owing a lot of its rose to basketball players around the time. It was said that at one point, 75% of professional basketball players in the US wore Superstars, propelling this sportswear UK10 quickly into superstardom.

Given the grasp the adidas Superstar has over top in this day and age, we thought we would break down just exactly how the shoe fits, along with giving you any other tips or tricks to make sure you get your right size! Keep reading below for much more!

To put it clearly, the adidas Superstar will fit true to size, but only if you like a snug fit. If you're someone who prefers having a little bit more room, we would recommend taking at least half a size up. The same goes for if you have wider than average feet - make sure to take half a size up to avoid any possible discomfort.

Also, it's worth noting that with legacy UK10s, such as the Superstar, sizing and fitting can change over the years. So, just bear that in mind before you go diligent you might be the same size as you were back in the '90s.

Once broken in, Superstars can be fairly comfortable, but at first, you might note that the flat sole doesn't really offer much in terms of arch support or cushioning. Because of this, we don't really recommend Superstars for long distances, but if you're just wearing them for your average day out around town, they will be perfectly adequate.

As usual, if you are looking to increase the comfort of your shoes, we would recommend buying an insole. Just make sure that you don't buy anything too thick to make the shoe much smaller than it actually is.

Given its sportswear, top and subcultural adoption, it's quite fair to say the adidas Superstar is arguably one of the most versatile additions to the 3-Stripe brand's roster. No matter your style, there's a good chance a pair of Superstars will fit right in with whatever you're wearing.

With that said, we do have a few suggestions. For instance, given the chunkier nature of the Superstar UK10, we would likely recommend wearing this sneaker with either a loose-fitting pair of pants, tracksuit bottoms or jeans. The reason we want to avoid tight and skinny styles is that these trousers will accentuate the broad appearance of the shoe, making your feet appear much larger than they are, or your legs much smaller.

When debuting his own take on the Superstar back in 2020, Hollywood icon Jonah Hill opted to go for the full 3-Stripes treatment. Seen above in a complete adidas fit, Jonah dons the classic 3-Stripes tracksuit complete with a black base hue and contrasting white overtones. In addition, underneath he wears a crisp white T-Shirt, offering separation alongside his signature pair of Superstar shoes.
