Curtain lining options

Choice of lining can depend on your room, are you looking to let light in, keep the light out or add extra layer of warmth? Take a look at our options below:

House Twill (standard option):

A lightweight lining that helps protect your curtain fabric from sunlight and filters light into the room.

Satin finish:

A medium weight satin lining that gently filters light from the room.

Thermal lining & blackout lining:

Thermal lining helps insulate your room and keep the heat in. Whereas blackout lining eliminates light from your room.

(Costs of each lining are calculated at the time of your order; based on width and drop. Lining choices will also vary depending on curtain style.)

Wrapping Paper & Gift Bags

When using a curtain track, fit your track or pole before measuring to get the most accurate result and make sure you check your measurements as orders cannot be returned. To ensure the perfect fit allowances are made, however we recommend using a tape measure to record your measurements.

What to do if you have bay windows?

If a track or pole needs fitting, follow individual retailers instructions as each manufacturer may have slightly different specifications. It is worth noting that we sell bendable bay window tracks as well. Unfortunately not all bay windows are suitable for eyelet heading curtain poles due to the way the pole is fixed to the wall. Please check your corners and joins to ensure eyelets can be fed along the pole.

Taking care of your curtains

Getting your curtains ready for their window debut? Here are some handy tips and tricks to keep them at their best:

Make sure all lined curtains are dry cleaned as standard.

If you have ordered a pair of our Made to Measure curtains, always clean them together and remove any hooks.

Hang your curtains and allow them to settle over a few days so any folds can drop out. Don’t panic! These should disappear over a short time.

Some eyelet curtains may have eyelet impression marks on the fabric. If necessary, use a steamer or a warm iron to remove them.
