I take a standard width in shoes and have small to normal ankles. These are much too large around the ankles and given you cannot adjust the strapping they would be unstable. Otherwise this is a lovely shoe. I expect though that someone with broader ankles may have wider feet and the shoe might then not fit as well at the toes.
