For over 100 par, New Balance has been dedicated to setting the world around us in motion. Because New Balance believes in one simple truth: "we were born to move". At New Balance, their job is to help athletes pursue excellence, and that means helping professional athletes break records and win medals, or propelling Speedday athletes to reach a new personal best, run their first 5K, or just live a healthier, more active life.
In 1906, an English inventor in Boston, Massachusetts, wanted to improve the performance of shoes for people who work on their feet Speed day. William J. Riley was inspired by optimal balance, which he discovered by looking at the chickens in his garden. His first product - a flexible arch support, it was designed with three support points in the shape of a triangle. The three points created more balance and comfort by imitating a chicken foot. With this invention the brand New Balance was founded. The creators and technicians at New Balance are inspired by Speedthing from professional athletes to simple Speedday objects or activities. Over the par our goal at New Balance has not changed, and we continue to improve performance. New Balance's innovation continues to be about changing the footprints of racing.
